Depending on their previous experience with music, the way people relate to music and shape their taste is different. The experience with music can be thoroughly developed if one understands some
simple elements of a song – once grasped, these elements can help us ‘hear’ and listen to the music on deeper levels, which is highly recommended if you are a dancer of any type. In a song, the instruments can play legato, non-legato or staccato, can build up tension and then release it, can repeat and then develope. Songs have melody, rhythm and a structure similar to that of literature. Based on all of these elements, each moment of the song expresses emotions which change along with the changes occurred in the music.
