Less known and used in social dance than the outside turn, the inside turn requires a different type of signal from the leader and a different type of preparation from the follower. 

Starting on count 8 with the signal, the turn per se begins on count 2 (for LA salsa – on 1). The follower has their weight on the left leg while turning, of course, to their left.
